Power restored to Beavercreek after vehicle crashes into pole, causing outage for over 700

UPDATE @ 10 a.m.: 

The DP&L power outage map shows that power has been restored to the Beavercreek area.

UPDATE @ 9:06 a.m.:

DP&L spokesperson Kevin Hall reported that a vehicle crashing into a pole around 6 a.m. caused an outage for 774 DP&L customers Sunday morning.

Hall said that a crew is working to replace the pole.

The DP&L outage map shows that the outage is still in effect.

A DP&L crew member reported that power to Beavercreek should be restored within half an hour.

INITIAL REPORT:

Over 700 people are currently without power in Beavercreek, according to the Dayton Power & Light outage map.

Initial reports said that the outage may be due to a car crash into a utility pole on Dayton-Xenia Road.

Beavercreek dispatchers confirmed that a power pole was damaged around 4:30 a.m. in a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Dayton-Xenia Road and Countryside Drive.

The outage currently applies to 774 customers in Greene County.
