Cruiser camera video obtained from a public records request shows a bicyclist fleeing from police and being struck on Wayne Avenue.

The bicyclist killed by a vehicle on Wayne Avenue while attempting to escape police died from blunt force trauma to his head and neck, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said.

Michael Flynn’s death has been ruled an accident, the coroner’s office said.

The Montgomery Coroner’s Office has identified the bicyclist hit on Wayne Avenue near Anderson Street as 23-year-old Michael Flynn.

UPDATE @ 1:53 p.m.:

A bicyclist involved in a crash on Wayne Avenue near Anderson Street has died, according to Dayton’s police chief.

Officers in the area witnessed the bicyclist engaging in suspected drug activity, Chief Richard Biehl said.

The bicyclist, only identified as a man in his middle 20s, took off from officers and was hit by an SUV traveling on Wayne Avenue.

The man was transported to Miami Valley Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, Biehl said.

No one inside the SUV suffered injuries, according to investigators.

The identity of the man killed was not available, pending notification of family.

Additional details were not available.

Police have blocked Wayne Avenue in Dayton near Anderson Street after a bicyclist was hit by a car Wednesday afternoon.

The condition of the bicyclist was not immediately known.
