Police: Germantown man arrested for assaulting girlfriend, having a gun

A SWAT team responded to a home at 75 N. Walnut St. just after midnight Friday when a woman reported that her boyfriend, who she also said had a gun, assaulted her and was suicidal, police said.

When officers arrived on the scene, the man walked out of the house and was immediately taken into custody without incident, officers said. Police have not released the man’s identity, nor have they said if he will be charged.

There was police activity in the area of West Warren Street and North Plum Street in Germantown early Friday.
