Steven Douglas McDowell, 60, is being held in the Greene County Jail on suspicion of gross sexual imposition, pandering obscenity involving a minor and illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material.

McDowell is a licensed practical nurse in the state of Ohio. His current license is valid until October 2018, according to state records.

According to a Beavercreek police incident report, a sex offense was reported Sunday at Pristine Senior Living of Beavercreek, 3854 Park Overlook Drive.

Pristine Senior Living issued a statement today that “Pristine has taken measures to ensure that the individual is no longer working at our facility.”

In a statement released earlier this week, Pristine officials reported that they are conducting an internal investigation but are not aware that any of their clients are victims.

“The safety and well-being of our residents and patients is our number one priority,” Pristine’s statement reads.

It’s not clear whether the charges McDowell is facing are related to the incident report at Pristine Senior Living.

McDowell appeared Tuesday via video arraignment in Fairborn Municipal Court where the judge set his bond at $250,000.

According to the statement of facts from the police investigation filed with Fairborn Municipal Court, McDowell's girlfriend reported to police on Sunday that she thought he was "acting odd lately" and she decided to check the contents of his phone without his knowledge.

The woman, who also works with McDowell, reported to her supervisor and ultimately to police that in the photo gallery of McDowell's iPhone 7 Plus she found "photographs of young females in various stages of undress," according to the court record.

The woman took photos of the images in the suspect's phone and showed them to police, and the detective's statement to the court is that the images appear to be of females under the age of 18 who were posing "in various stages of nudity.”

McDowell is scheduled to appear July 27 for a preliminary hearing.
