UPDATE @ 8:12 p.m.: At least one person has been taken into custody from the house on Kipling Drive where a county SWAT team was deployed because of concerns that firearms could be in the residence, Montgomery County Sheriff Rob Streck said.

“We believe we got who we needed out of the house,” he said. “The individual who we were looking for voluntarily came out of the house after we started making commands.”

Streck said a stolen vehicle investigation led deputies to the address in the 1700 block of Kipling Drive. The decision to involve the Montgomery County Regional SWAT team was made because of what authorities knew about the investigation -- and the concerns about the firearms.

Some neighborhood residents sheltered in place during the operation, which shut down the street at both ends — Kings Highway and Otterbein Avenue.

Other neighborhood residents remained in their vehicles as they waited out the investigation, which included SWAT team members surrounding the house.
