UPDATE: Suspect ditches crashed car after chase but is caught on foot by Franklin police

UPDATE @ 3:24 P.M.

Franklin police have identified the suspect in the pursuit as Matthew Brooks, 39, of Dayton.

Franklin police pursued a stolen car in a chase that ended in Miami Twp., and Brooks was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit, according to Franklin police.

Brooks is in the Warren County Jail awaiting arraignment on charges of receiving stolen property and failure to comply with order or signal of a police officer.

A police pursuit that started in Franklin has ended on Benner Road in Miami Twp. Friday morning. 

Initial reports indicate the chase began in Franklin, with multiple units attempting to stop a stolen car, according to scanner traffic. 

The pursuit ended on Benner Road near Miamisburg Springboro Pike with the vehicle ending up in a ditch. 

Scanner traffic indicated one person was taken into custody, but officials at the scene were unable to confirm those reports. 

A Miami Twp. police cruiser, attempting to stop the vehicle, also became stuck in a field during the pursuit. The officer was not injured.
