1 of 2 teens shot in Dayton remains patient at MVH

The two people who were shot on East Parkwood Drive in Dayton Tuesday are both teenagers, according to the Dayton police report.

The 19-year-old male victim remains a patient at Miami Valley Hospital. His condition is not being released.

The female who was reportedly struck by a round in the lower back is 16 years old. She was treated at Good Samaritan Hospital and is not listed as a patient today.

Police have not said whether any arrests have been made.

Police in Dayton are investigating after two people were shot on East Parkwood Drive, and one of the victims called 9-1-1 to report the incident.

The female caller told the emergency dispatcher she was shot in the lower back and a male “who I was with” was shot and bleeding heavily, according to the 9-1-1 call record.

The victim called from inside a home on East Parkwood. She told the dispatcher they were shot by someone in a vehicle that drove by. The victim described the vehicle as a gray truck, but she was not able to answer what direction the vehicle was traveling.

Police tell us two people were shot and officers are processing evidence at the scene in the first block of East Parkwood Drive.

The two victims were apparently driven to Good Samaritan Hospital after being shot, according to a police official.

At the scene, police have part of East Parkwood Drive cordoned off with crime scene tape. Officers are taking photos of a silver Pontiac parked on the side of the street. Officers have placed evidence markers out, possibly marking the locations of spent shell casings.

Police in Dayton are responding to a reported shooting in the first block of East Parkwood Avenue.

At least one person was shot and reportedly showed up at the Good Samaritan Hospital emergency room.

Police are on East Parkwood Avenue where a vehicle reportedly has bullet holes.
