DAYTON — The Montgomery County Coroner's Office has confirmed Jessie Chivers, 29, is the man who was found in backyard of a residence on West Second Street on Tuesday.

  • An autopsy will be be performed on Chivers on Wednesday.
  • Chivers lived in the home in the 3700 block of West Second Street where he was found
  • Chivers sometimes answered to Tyree — his middle name.

Chivers’ body was removed from his home where police responded to a shooting early Tuesday afternoon.

The 3700 block of West Second, east of North Gettysburg Avenue, was blocked to traffic.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at 12:39 p.m. after a male called 9-1-1 and reported his brother was shot, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.
