EB U.S. 35 reopens following dump truck rollover crash

Eastbound U.S. 35 is open to traffic after closing earlier this evening for a rollover crash.

Dispatchers said crews have removed a crashed dump truck that flipped on its side at the Smithville exit.

Police at the scene are requesting a guardrail near the exit be replaced due to damage from the crash, according to dispatchers.

UPDATE @ 7:11 p.m.

Dayton police say eastbound U.S. 35 will temporarily close as crews attempted to remove a crashed dump truck near the Smithville Road exit.

Our crew at the scene reports the far left lane of the highway is currently open and traffic remains congested in the area.

Police said they plan to be at the scene for the next hour to remove the truck from the roadway.

No one involved in the crash was injured, according to police in the area.

UPDATE @ 6:58 p.m.

The far left lane of eastbound U.S. 35 is now open following a temporary closure due to a single-car crash.

Our crew at the scene says a dump truck is on its side in the far right lane of the eastbound U.S. 35.

Dispatchers said no one involved in the crash has been taken to the hospital.

Our crew is working to learn more from police at the scene.

INITIAL REPORT (Nov. 8)

Eastbound U.S. 35 is closed between the Smithville Road and Woodman Drive exits due to a semi crash, according to dispatchers.

Crews were dispatched to the reported crash around 5:53 p.m.

Dispatcher said injuries were initially reported but crews have yet to take anyone to the hospital.

Initial reports indicate a semi is on its side and smoking in the area.

The highway will be temporarily closed and traffic slow moving as crews address the crash, according to dispatchers.
