Vehicle crashes into Springfield church and pantry

UPDATED @ 11:49 a.m.:

Despite heavy damage, a Springfield pantry and church will reopen Saturday, according to a church member.

Thanks to a volunteer construction crew, the Good Samaritan Outreach Center and New Beginnings Christian Church Worship Center’s pantry will resume at 8 a.m. Saturday and church services will go on Sunday as planned.

UPDATED @ 11:16 A.M.:

A volunteer going to sort clothes Friday morning ended up driving into a West Washington Street building in Springfield.

The woman said that she was going to sort clothes at the Good Samaritan Outreach Center and the next thing she knew she was inside the building.

The Outreach Center also serves as the New Beginnings Christian Church Worship Center.

The woman was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

First responders are on the scene of a reported vehicle into a building in Springfield.

A vehicle reportedly crashed into a building around 10 a.m. Friday at 408 W. Washington St.
