Sparks from the line touched off the house fire, and the residents shut the doors on their way out and that held the damage to a bedroom, the battalion chief said.
There were no injuries, he said, but the damage to the bedroom was severe.
The family will have to stay elsewhere for the night, he said.
INITIAL REPORT
Firefighters are investigating what caused a downed power line that is believed to have triggered a house fire Friday evening in Beavercreek.
We're hearing that everyone was able to safely get out of the one-story single-family residence in the 1100 block of Rosendale Drive.
Crews were dispatched just after 8 p.m. on the report of a possible structure fire.
