Police were requested to investigate the threat this afternoon after it was found in the bathroom, Vail said. The school conducted a brief shelter in place while the threat was investigated.

Police later determined the threat was not credible and lifted the shelter in place, Vail said.

Parents were notified in a one-call of the incident and investigation.

Additional details were not available.

FIRST REPORT

We’re working to learn more about multiple police officers at Miamisburg Middle School Tuesday afternoon.

Parents have arrived at school to pick up students and told our crew the school received a threat. A call to parents said the threat was found written on a piece of paper in a bathroom, according to a grandparent who was there to pick up a child.

However, officers on the scene said the school is now functioning as normal and additional information needs to come from the school district.

Calls to the school district for more information have not been immediately returned.

We’ll update this page as we learn more.
