Rezoning plans to build more than 300 new homes move forward in Miamisburg

Rezoning requests to build more than new 300 homes in Miamisburg is set go before city council this week.

The two proposals involve 191 houses for the Deer Valley development off Benner Road and 127 homes called Courseview at Pipestone off on Miamisburg Springboro Road, city records show.

The Deer Valley plan would involve Ryan Homes, city officials have said. It would include developing about 69 of the site’s 87 acres near Mound Business Park, according to city records.

Courseview at Pipestone calls for the Inverness Group to build on about 38 of 42 acres west of Austin Landing, records show. Much of the land was annexed by the city earlier this year as part of a tax-sharing agreement with Miami Twp.

The Deer Valley plan was revived this year after being put forth last decade before being shelved after the downturn in the housing market, according to the city.

The initial plan approved by the city about 12 years ago called for more than 200 homes, Miamisburg Development Director Chris Fine has said.

Both proposals would involve rezoning land from agricultural to planned residential, city records show.

Both rezoning issues are set to go before Miamisburg City Council Tuesday night. Both issues would then go to the planning commission before returning to council, city officials have said.
