Five people were transported to Miami Valley Hospital following a crash involving a pick-up truck and an RTA bus at the intersection of East Fifth and Keowee streets Friday.

According to a Dayton police crash report, the driver of the pick-up truck, Jerry Busbee, 75, of Texas, ran a red light as he was driving south on Keowee around 11 a.m.

Busbee’s pick-up collided with the bus at the intersection of Keowee and Fifth.

The five people injured were aboard the RTA bus and included the driver of the bus, according to the report.

All of those injured suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening, the report said.

Alcohol and drugs were not believed to have played a factor and Busbee was cited for running the red light.
