RTA hub platform closes for maintenance work

Starting Saturday, the main RTA hub platform will be closed for maintenance in downtown Dayton.

However, all routes and times remain the same, according to the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority.

The enhancements, which include painting and fixing benches at the Wright Stop Plaza platform, 4 S. Main St., will run through July 30. Signs notify riders of the closure and where they can catch their buses.

"I’ve known for awhile since they’ve been posting it,” said RTA bus rider Benjamin Wathen.

While the platform is closed, the inside concourse of Wright Stop Plaza remains open. Most buses will board about a half-block away on East Third Street, except for Route 7 and Route 8 that will board on Main Street.

‘It’s kind of an inconvenience because you have to walk,” said rider Sean Wood.

However, most riders say they look forward to the improvements.
