Shots fired investigation leads to 4 drug-related arrests

An investigation into shots fired at a Richmond, Ind. home led to four people being arrested for drug-related charges.

Around 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North 14th Street after receiving reports of shots fired at the house.

According to a Richmond police incident report, officers arrived and found the home was hit by several bullets and shell casings were in the street.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the home which lead to the arrest of four people.

37-year-old Eric Smith and 31-year-old Alicia McFarland were both charged with possession of a controlled substance visiting a common nuisance. Smith was also wanted for two outstanding warrants for his arrest.

26-year-old Alexander Irwin was charged with dealing a narcotic drug, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance, reckless possession of paraphernalia, and possession of a syringe.

37-year-old Darrick Sullivan was charged with dealing a narcotic drug, maintaining a common nuisance, reckless possession of paraphernalia, and possession of a syringe.

All four remain booked in the Wayne County, Ind. jail Friday morning.

Police said there are no suspects from the original incident of shots fired into the house.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
