SICSA offering ‘name your own price’ adoption event

SICSA Pet Adoption Center announced its “Furry Black Friday” adoption special offering “name your own price” for all adoptable pets.

The special runs Nov. 23 from 12 to 7 p.m.

"We want to spread the word about the 'name your own price' promotion in hopes that families will add SICSA to their list of Black Friday destinations," said Jessie Sullivan, director of adoption and placement services. "People can give a homeless dog or cat the most extraordinary gift this holiday season, the gift of a forever home."

Sullivan said the center is expecting a big crowd, but will try to make the atmosphere as fun as possible with activities for children and refreshments during the wait.

"I had never adopted an animal on my own before, and I was pleasantly surprised at how quick and easy SICSA made the process," said Morgan Pritchett, who adopted a dog during last year’s event. "They helped me find a great match, and I would recommend adoption to anyone looking to add a pet to their home."

A Giving Tree will be displayed in the lobby containing dozens of animal ornaments, each with a short list of animal care items such as treats, toys and bedding. Guests can choose from these ornaments, then purchase the care items as a donation to SICSA.

The gifts may be dropped off anytime during open hours: Monday – Saturday 12 to 7 p.m., and Sunday 12 to 4 p.m.
