Police: Driver ‘very lucky’ in single-vehicle rollover crash in Greene County

One man is considered “very lucky” after only suffering minor injuries in a single-vehicle rollover accident that occurred in Sugarcreek Twp Sunday morning.

Speed and potentially alcohol may have been the cause of the crash that occurred in the 700 block of South Alpha Bellbrook Road, Sgt. Plummer of the Sugarcreek Police Department said.

The man reportedly drove a Chevrolet SUV off the left side of the roadway, either struck a guardrail or roadway, rolled, then landed on its side.

The crash scene was over 400 feet long, blocking off Carpenter Road and Stutsman Road while crews handled the incident which caused heavy damage to the SUV.

The driver was taken to Kettering Hospital.
