VA/DoD Transition Center is closed

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the VA/DoD Transition Center, Bldg. 830, Room BP-20, has temporarily closed to the public to protect customers.

Chiefs’ group taking applications

The 2020 Chiefs’ group is accepting applications for its annual scholarship. The winning applicant can receive either a $500 or $1,000 amount scholarship, which can be used at college, university or trade skills institutions. Any U.S. military enlisted member or dependents of active-duty, Guard, Reserve or retired enlisted personnel may apply. Contact your unit chief master sergeant or, if a dependent, your sponsor’s unit chief master sergeant for an application. Everything is due by July 10.

Current marathon prices extended

Due to the current environment brought on by COVID-19, current pricing to register for the Air Force Marathon will extend to June 7.

Prices for the marathon and half marathon will increase by $10 on June 8 while the cost of the 5K and 10K races will increase by $5. The price for the Fly! Fight! Win! Challenge Series, in which runners compete in the 5K, 10K and either the half marathon or marathon will increase by $20, and the Tailwind Trot 1K Kids’ Run will increase by $3.

The next price increase will be on July 20.

Active-duty, reservists and guard members may receive up to $10 off their race registration.

The Air Force Marathon, presented by Northrop Grumman, USAA and Boeing, is scheduled for Sept. 19. Check out more information about race weekend at www.usafmarathon.com.
