SATURDAY:  A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the entire Miami Valley for Saturday. A wintry mix of snow and ice will create hazardous conditions across the region. Areas along and south of I-70 will deal with a wintry mix that eventually changes to snow. North of that, especially north of U.S. 36, will likely start and end as snow. This is subject to change based on where the rain/snow line sets up. Early snowfall estimates across the far north are as high as 6 to 10 inches. Dayton and points south may see a light icing of around a tenth to a quarter of an inch then an additional snow accumulation of 3 to 6 inches.

Southeast of that, we’ll see light icing with 2 to 4 inches of snow atop that. The wintry weather will wrap up Saturday night and any untreated roads will remain slick. Along with the snow and ice will come gusty winds. During the day Saturday, winds will increase and may gust to 35 mph Saturday evening. Sporadic power outages are to be expected. Temperatures will vary from north to south, above and below 32 degrees. Arctic air will rush in Saturday night and temperatures will fall into the teens into Sunday with sub-zero wind chills.
