A sobriety checkpoint set for tonight will honor a local teen, who lost his life saving a young boy from a suspected drunk driver.
The checkpoint will take place from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the 2700 block of Wilmington Pike in Kettering.
It is dedicated to 15-year-old Austin Rife.
Rife was killed last August as he pushed a 6-year-old out of the way of a vehicle driven by a woman suspected of drunk driving. She went off the road and through a field.
He was on a fishing trip with his family in Pennsylvania at the time.
