Vandalia will have a few soggy doggies around today.

The dog days of summer are over, and Cassel Hills Swimming Pool will host its annual Labor Day Soggy Doggy Dip this evening to enjoy the last day the pool is open.

Owners can bring up to two pooches to the event, which runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at 1061 Taylorsview Dr.

Vandalia Parks and Recreation Department guidelines for all pet owners include:

— All dogs must display a valid license.

— All dogs must have proof of current rabies vaccinations.

— Dogs must be on a 6’ leash when not in the water.

— An adult must accompany their dogs at all times while they are out of the water.

— Owners will be responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.

— Unruly, worrisome to others, or aggressive dogs will not be permitted.

— VPRD reserves the right to deny admission for any reason.

— The pool will be available for your four legged friends only.

— Waste must be disposed of completely and immediately.

The fee for the Soggy Doggy Dip is $5 per pup.
