The speed limit decision came after the majority of the council members voted unanimously to approve an emergency ordinance about the speed limit. Councilwoman Jean Kyle was not present.
The emergency ordinance said that “in the interest of the city and its residents’ safety that a designated speed limit for the new Union Airpark Boulevard be established and implemented immediately due to the nearby development adjacent to the new Union Airpark Boulevard and increase in traffic on said road.” KELLI WYNN
