Springboro grads who played in Super Bowl to visit school Saturday

The Springboro school district will receive tonight, Feb. 6, two NFL Golden Footballs during halftime of the Springboro versus Franklin basketball game at Springboro High School. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The footballs will be presented by Springboro Panther alumni Brad Lamb and Jake Ballard.

Lamb, a 1986 graduate of Springboro High School, played four seasons with the 120Buffalo Bills, including two Super Bowls followed by one season, with the Green Bay Packers.

Ballard, a 2006 Springboro graduate, played three seasons with the New York Giants, including a Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl XLVI, as well as the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals.

As part of the nationwide Super Bowl 50 celebration, the National Football League started the Super Bowl High School Honor Roll program to acknowledge schools and communities that have directly influenced Super Bowl history and impacted the game of football for the better.

The NFL Wilson Golden Footballs will be presented to Ryan Wilhite, Panthers football head coach; Kyle Martin, Springboro High School principal; and Dave Stuckey, Springboro Board of Education vice president. Stuckey coached Ballard in basketball and Lamb in football. The stadium is at 1675 S. Main St., Ohio 741 in Springboro.
