About Developmental Disabilities: Developmental disabilities are conditions that emerge during a person's developmental period (which, as defined by Ohio law, occurs between birth and age 22) that may affect day-to-day functioning. Such disabilities usually last throughout a person's lifetime. Mental health diagnoses alone are not considered a qualifying disability.
About MCBDDS: The Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services serves more than 4,300 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and works to empower them so they can live productive and rewarding lives aligned with their goals and choices. MCBDDS is a Human Services Levy-funded agency.
