Beginning July 5, Target is fulfilling a promise made in 2017 and is moving its minimum wage up to $15 an hour.

In 2017, Target announced it would increase starting pay from $11 to $15 by 2020. In 2019, the starting wage at Target was $13.

In addition to the increase in wages, Target is giving a $200 bonus to all essential Target workers for their efforts throughout the pandemic and shutdown.

CEO Brian Cornell said he wants to “keep Target on the forefront of meeting the changing needs” of the business, according to a statement from the company.

Target is also providing telehealth services for employees until the end of this year, and it is not exclusive to employees who get insurance through Target.
