“My schedule is to arise at 630 a.m., pick up the paper off my front porch, and enjoy reading the Dayton Daily News until breakfast time,” he said.
Patterson said he earned a penny a paper - three cents on Sundays - delivering the Dayton Daily News as a paperboy when he was 12.
“I did it for five years and it was a good experience,” he recalled.
That initial business experience ended up sparking a sense of pride that led him to become the owner of Korrect Plumbing. The company has been a fixture in the Dayton area for more than five decades.
Patterson also keeps active in the community and donates blood (plasma and platelets) throughout the year.
He said he is thankful for the hard work journalists put into making the paper a solid source of local, state, regional and national news.
“Thank you for providing an interesting newspaper,” Patterson said.
