The Foodbank’s drive-thru pantry will be open Tuesday through Thursday this week.

The drive-thru pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, May 26; Wednesday, May 27; and Thursday, May 28. The drive-thru pantry will be at The Foodbank’s warehouse at 56 Armor Place.

The Dayton office and warehouse will be closed on Memorial Day, The Foodbank staff said.

The Foodbank Chief Development Officer Lee Lauren Truesdale said it served about 1,600 households over four days last week.

Also this week, The Foodbank received a $10,000 donation from Allison Janney and Ellen DeGeneres. Janney won a game on The Ellen show and the funds went to the Dayton food bank.

The donation will feed about 60,000 people, Truesdale said.

The Foodbank also has a walk-up window at the warehouse for those who do not have access to a car for the drive-thru food pantry. The Foodbank warehouse is off of Dayton RTA bus line 8, Truesdale said.
