Tranquility Spa offers an escape from everyday stresses

Tranquility Spa recently opened its doors at 6227 Old Troy Pike in Huber Heights Spa manager Sonya Olszewski, 47, said she worked as a hairstylist for 15 years before entering the healthcare field as a medical staff coordinator. Now she has come full circle back to the salon industry but in a different capacity.

What the business does: Olszewski said that Tranquility Spa began as a teaching facility for the students of Ohio Institute of Allied Health to perform their clinical massage services as part of their education. Its vision was to move the spa to a newly constructed space adding salon services to the already existing spa menu creating a full service destination for relaxation, rejuvenation and embellishment.

“We offer a full range of hair, nails, massage, reflexology, Reiki and aesthetics to help you escape from daily stressors and let us pamper you,” she said.

How the business started: "When I was approached to manage Tranquility Spa I was in the process of discerning a career change. Healthcare is immensely regulated and had become less fulfilling and more stressful. I am extremely excited to get back into the beauty industry. This is where my passion is. I was ready for a change. I am blessed to be surrounded by a new staff of talented, motivated and passionate people working as a team to promote rejuvenescence in a calming, tranquil environment," said Olszewski.

In the future: "Our service menu has expanded a great deal from the previous business already. We have plans to add medical spa services such as laser hair removal, permanent make up, fillers such as Botox and Juvederm, chemical peels, etc. Plans are underway for a men's salon adjacent to the spa where our focus will be haircuts just for guys," said Olszewski.

Hours and contact and information: Tranquility Spa is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. Phone is (937) 350-1772 or go to www.tranquilityspa.us.
