Driver falls asleep at the wheel, hits trooper’s cruiser on I-70 east

UPDATE @ 10:01 a.m.:

The driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck fell asleep at the wheel this morning and hit the back of an Ohio State Highway Patrol cruiser on Interstate 70 east in Huber Heights.

The trooper was driving behind an oversize load when the pickup truck crashed into the cruiser, according to the OSHP.

INITIAL REPORT:

An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper was involved in a crash on I-70 east near Old Troy Pike in Huber Heights Thursday morning.

No injuries were reported, according to dispatchers.

A pickup truck and trooper collided around 9:20 a.m., with two tow trucks arriving on scene shortly after.
