That’s when the truck’s bed was ripped away and left out on the interstate.
The driver of the pickup continued on and pulled off the road near the Northwoods Boulevard exit. He got out with the keys and ran, jumped the interstate retaining wall and continued running toward the Kroger on Northwoods Boulevard.
That's about a mile from the crash. He hasn't been seen since.
Troopers said the truck is registered to a Tipp City man and they are going to his home to wait for him. He'll be cited to failure to control and leaving the scene, if they catch him.

Finally, an SUV initially thought to be involved in the crash was not. That driver was a witness.

No one was injured. All lanes have been reopened.
UPDATE @ 7:14 p.m.:
No one was injured in the four-vehicle crash on I-75 North in Vandalia that created a debris field about 100 yards long.
An SUV, semitrailer, minivan and pickup truck were involved. The bed of the pickup truck was torn away in the collision.
We’ve learned the collision involving the pickup occurred near the exit to East National Road (U.S. 40), but the driver continued for about a mile and stopped on the interstate near the exit to Northwoods Boulevard.
The left and center lanes are open again. All lanes should be open soon.
INITIAL REPORT
An accident on I-75 North in Vandalia, just south of the exit to East National Road (U.S. 40), is causing traffic delays
The left lane remains open but there is debris scattered on the interstate, including the bed of a pickup truck believed to have been ripped away in the collision.
We're also hearing, according to callers to police and fire dispatch, that someone from the truck ran and jumped a fence at a construction site just off the interstate.
The accident was reported about 6:35 p.m. We're working to learn whether anyone has been injured.
