Unsafe signs removed from senator's Xenia building

A day after the News Center 7 report, a state senator's building in downtown Xenia is no longer deemed unsafe.

State Sen. Chris Widener (R-Springfield) owns the vacant building at 45 E. Main St.

During routine inspections of downtown buildings earlier this week, city inspectors cited it and erected signs telling the public the building was unsafe.

News Center 7 first brought you this story during the 11 p.m. broadcast Thursday night.

By Friday, the warning signs had been removed.

Official word came Saturday no problems were found during a follow up inspection.
