Winds continue into evening, showers late

Key Weather Points:

  • Showers late tonight/a.m. Wednesday
  • Temps below average

In Butler and Warren counties, while not under the National Weather Service advisory, people there will experience gusty, strong winds that could make driving difficult, according to the special weather statement from the weather service office in Wilmington.

Sustained winds are expected from 25 mph to 35 mph. Gusts could reach more than 45 mph.

This evening, the wind will continue to be a big issue across the area as far as travel is concerned, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek said. Gusts may exceed 40 mph through 7 p.m. and will have the most impact on high profile vehicles and any vehicle over open roads.

Any weakened large limbs from previous storms could fall during this period. Temps will be falling for sure, however, through the 50s during the evening.

Look for less windy conditions tonight, but some showers will move in late. Lows in the low 40s.

Wednesday: Scattered showers will be possible through mid-morning before moving east. Clouds won't give way to too much sun. Highs in the mid 50s.

Thursday: We'll start the morning with temps in the mid-30s. A lingering slight breeze will hamper the chance for a widespread frost, but areas not protected from the breeze could see some light frost. Mostly sunny skies will move highs back into the mid-50s in the afternoon.

Friday: A clear sky and calm wind may allow for a better set up for frost close to sunrise. We'll have lots of sun for the day, with more clouds late. Highs in the mid- to upper 50s.

Saturday: Some moisture may move in, allowing for a few showers south of Dayton. At this time, most of the area would only see a cloudy sky. Highs in the low 50s.

Sunday: Clouds give way to more sun through the day. Highs in the upper 50s.
