Woman facing charges after throwing knife during argument

A Springfield woman is facing charges after reportedly throwing a knife at a man during an argument.

Casey L. Payne, 28, pleaded not guilty to felonious assault and domestic violence today in Clark County Municipal Court.

Payne was arguing with the man Saturday at her South Yellow Springs Street home, according to court documents.

She told deputies they were arguing over her losing her job when the man said he was going to punch her.

Payne said she was scared, so she threw a large kitchen knife at him, according to court documents.

Deputies noted that Payne appeared to be intoxicated and that she admitted to drinking earlier in the day.

The man was found in the Springfield Regional Medical Center parking lot with a large cut on his forehead.

He reportedly told deputies that he fell and did not want to press charges.
