A message written on the wall of a bathroom at Twin Valley South school prompted deputies to evacuate and sweep the school for any potential danger.

Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson said the school resource officer was alerted to the message, which read “Bomb 12:30,” around 1:45 p.m.

Students were evacuated from the building and deputies with the Preble County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Dayton Airport Police Department assisted with clearing the building, Simpson said.

The sheriff’s office did not locate anything inside the building and students were released.

High school students were dismissed at normal time and middle school and elementary students were released a little earlier than normal, Simpson said.

The sheriff’s office is working to determine who may have been responsible for the message.
