Man Beaten To Death In Dayton

Police in Dayton said they are investigating a beating that left a man dead after he was repeatedly kicked in the head.

Investigators said his alleged killer called 911 just before the victim died.

Dayton police released the 911 call on Friday. According to officers, the incident began late Thursday night with an argument, where the victim first allegedly punched the suspect.

The suspect then called 911 right before the victim was killed.

Police said the beating happened inside a Woodbine Avenue apartment. The victim was identified as James Weddington.

Walter Delph, 50, was arrested in connection with Weddington’s death.

Police said Weddington did not live in the apartment, but was friends with the suspect. They said alcohol is believed to have played a role in the beating.
