Miamisburg vote could lead to $7M investment, 44 new jobs

Moves that will allow for the construction of a 95,000 square foot facility and more jobs in Miamisburg are set to be considered this week.

The Miamisburg City Council will address two issues Tuesday night that will permit Staco Energy Products to build a new facility at 2425 Technical Drive as part of a $7 million investment to triple the number of jobs it has in the city.

The manufacturer of power equipment wants to replat 19.5 acres of vacant land at the dead ends of Technical and Earl Boulevard and vacate easements in that area, where it plans to add 44 jobs, city records show.

The company currently has 22 employees at its corporate headquarters at 1229 Byers Road, according to the city.

Staco has a manufacturing plant at 301 Gaddis Blvd. in Dayton, according to its website. Its corporate office was located in that city before it announced in late 2013 a move to Miamisburg.

City records show the company plans to consolidate operations at the proposed new site in Miamisburg as part of a move that will give it a $4 million payroll in that city by 2021.

City council is set to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Miamisburg Civic Center.
