Miller-Valentine lawsuit: These local housing complexes are part of federal disability settlement.

More than 50 Ohio apartment complexes were listed in a federal housing discrimination lawsuit involving Miller-Valentine Operations Inc. and its associates.

A total of 82 apartment complexes in 13 states, including Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia, were named in the settlement, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The lawsuit alleged that Miller-Valentine and associates built complexes that were inaccessible to people with disabilities. In the settlement, which has not been approved by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, Miller-Valentine agreed to pay $475,000.
