Ohio Gov. John Kasich doesn’t have a vote on the federal health care law, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have influence. Kasich has spent the last several days appearing on talk shows, meeting with Republican lawmakers and generally making his views known about the health care bill drafted by GOP Senate leaders. Here are five recent quotes from Kasich about the bill. Spoiler alert: He doesn’t like it.

1. "Are you kidding me?"

2. "I've talked to Rob (Portman) a million times; he knows exactly what my concerns are."

3. "Bipartisanship isn't a bad word. It's given us real, long-term solutions before, and it can again."

4. "If you try to get a great number of governors, Republican or Democrat, to speak out on this, where are they? All you hear are crickets and chirping, because they're worried about upsetting their base."

5. "If they don't want to improve this bill, I'm not for this bill."
