Muffet McGraw won a pair of national titles as the women's basketball coach at Notre Dame.

Ann “Muffet” McGraw, who led Notre Dame to a pair of women’s basketball titles during her 33-year career in South Bend, announced her retirement Wednesday.

McGraw, 64, a four-time Associated Press National Coach of the Year, announced her retirement on Twitter.

"The time has come for me to step down," McGraw tweeted.

McGraw will be replaced by former assistant coach Niele Ivey, who also played for Notre Dame, the school announced.

McGraw was elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.

McGraw has been with Notre Dame for 33 seasons and compiled an 848-251 record. Her career record, which includes a five-season stint at Lehigh University, is 936-292. Notre Dame won national titles in 2001 and 2018, and have played in 24 consecutive NCAA Tournaments.

Since 2011, the Irish advanced to seven Final Fours over nine seasons, reaching the title game six times.

McGraw, the third women's basketball coach in the program's history, led the Irish to 14 regular-season conference titles, including the Atlantic Coast Conference from 2014 to 2019, WSBT reported. She coached 22 All-Americans at Notre Dame, and 20 future WNBA players, including 10 first-round picks, WSBT reported.

McGraw, a native of West Chester, Pennsylvania, earned her bachelor's degree in sociology from Saint Joseph's University in 1977, WBND reported.
