Nelly’s previously operated at 37 Alex Road in Miamisburg since its opening in 2006, but outgrew that location, its owners said. The new location doubles the seating capacity from 40 to 80, and the new Nelly’s is now a full-service restaurant, rather than counter-service, restaurant. It also serves beer and wine, and will add spirits and cocktails later, Santillan said.
The restaurant specializes in charcoal rotisserie chicken and serves several Bolivian entrees and side dishes. The new restaurant has an expanded menu, Santillan said.
The restaurant’s owners had hoped to open last spring, but renovation and construction delays postponed the opening, the Nelly’s co-owner said.
The Centerville restaurant space has been vacant since Root 48 Tavern & Grille closed in August 2014. The building previously housed Twisted Root and Savona Restaurant & Wine Bar, all three under the direction of chef and co-owner Keith Taylor, and before that, it held the Blue Moon restaurant.
