A woman was shot after she reportedly damaged a man’s vehicle with a golf club and tried to beat down his door.

A man saw a woman damaging his vehicle with a golf club around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. She reportedly threatened to shoot him and the man retreated to his apartment, where the suspect followed him inside, still carrying the golf club, according to Dayton police.

The man told officers she continued to beat on his door and he thought he heard a gunshot. The man then shot through the door, striking the woman.

The man was one of the 911 callers who reported the shooting in the 4400 block of Germantown Pike.

Another 911 caller said that a woman on a bus had been shot. It is not clear why the suspect was on the bus.
