Police part of Miamisburg school safety, security forum Wednesday

School safety and security will be the focus of a community meeting in Miamisburg this week.

Various measures in place within the district, as well as procedures that are followed in the buildings to maintain the safety and security for the students and staff on a daily basis will be discussed, school officials said.

The meeting is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday in the commons area of Miamisburg High School. A short presentation by the school district will be followed by statements from a state board member, legal counsel, law enforcement officials, and a current student, as well as a question and answer period.

In March, the district had scheduled a community forum on school safety and security, but postponed the meeting indefinitely.
