Washington Township Man Shot In Home Invasion

Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputies are searching for two men who they said broke into a house and shot a man during an apparent home invasion.

The shooting happened in the 400 block of West Rahn Road in Washington Township late Monday night, just before midnight.

Deputies said they believe the men may have entered through a front porch door.

A confrontation inside the home ended with at least one shot fired. The resident was hit in the leg. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by a Washington Township medic with non-life-threatening injuries.

John Winblad who lives nearby said, "That's my friend, and this is not something that happens around here. We feel pretty secure and people lock their doors, but they don't always feel that have to. This is scary."

Deputies said the suspects are two white males, 20 to 30 years of age, around 6 feet, 2 inches tall. They were wearing camouflage jackets and black ski masks. Deputies said one man had a black revolver.

The men left on foot, but deputies do not know if they eventually got into a car. No description of the vehicle was released.

The victim was treated and released from the hospital.

So far, no arrests have been made.
