The 50,000-square-foot complex is comprised of three greenhouses and space for support, processing and ancillary services according to Charlie Bachtell, CEO and co-founder.

After the ribbon cutting, attendees were invited to take a tour of the concrete-walled building after suiting up with protective clothing, shoe covers, hair and beard covers to keep the facility clean.
The first phase of cultivating the plants is in the vegetation room where cloned and bar-coded marijuana plants are nurtured under climate-controlled conditions with specific lighting that had a blue-green hue. Here, cultivation agents trim and monitor growth of the young plants.

Next, in the flowering room, intense yellow light bathes the plants which are now about 12 to 24-inches tall. In this climate and light controlled room, the plants will mature and flower for harvest.
The three hybrid greenhouses are also flowering rooms. In addition to being climate controlled these energy-efficient building will utilize sunlight and ambient light to reduce power consumption.
Cresco Labs plans to offer a full line of pharmaceutical-grade products in Ohio derived from the plants grown in Yellow Springs. Patients must be physician-certified to have any of the 22 approved medical conditions to legally be able to purchase these products.
