WATCH: This is what a dead golf course looks like before its resurrection

Larch Tree Golf Course in Trotwood closed about five years ago. Now, there are new plans for the property.

Five Rivers MetroParks plans to transform the former golf course into a a park over a 10-year project. Officials want to include trails, pond expansion for fishing, nature space for children and a connection the nearby Sycamore State Park.

Several golf courses have closed around the region in the past few years. (See them: 8 golf courses that have or will shut their doors). Some have developed plans for their future, like Snyder Park in Springfield. There, a dog park has been developed, and a local gardeners club is building a 25-acre garden area.
