West Carrollton City Council considers first raise in 2 decades

Legislation to give West Carrollton City Council members their first pay raise in more than 25 years will be considered Tuesday night.

The measure would increase the annual compensation for council members to $4,000, city records show. The legislation does not include an increase for the mayor’s post.

EARLIER: Council discusses changing compensation

Currently, the mayor’s annual salary is $7,500, a year while other members make $3,000 annually for the four-year terms, according to the city. The last increase came was approved in 1991, city records show.

If approved, the pay hikes would not go into effect until after council members stand for re-election as per state guidelines, according to the city.

Council is set to meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night in the West Carrollton Civic Center, 300 E. Central Ave.
