Dayton-area man crowned ‘Chili Boss’

Everybody thinks they have a boss chili.

Only one man has a plaque to prove it.

Springboro resident Bill Lawton recently took home the top honors in Crooked Handle Brewing Company's Boss Chili Competition.

A panel of judges that included Dayton.com's Amelia Robinson favored Lawton's chili over about 15 others.

He also won the Springboro brewery’s second annual chili People’s Choice award.

Lawton won $250 cash, a $100 Crooked Handle gift card, a $25 Dorothy Lane Market gift card and a $25 Heather’s Coffee and Café gift card.

His name was engraved on the Chili Boss plaque.

Mason Walusis  won second place and Jeff Glackin took home third.

Both received gift cards and plaques.
