Wedig's bar, located at 3311 Seajay Drive in Beavercreek, will undergo a number of changes when it is officially sold on May 1.

The new ownership group, which also owns Patterson Pub (formerly Taggart's Pub) at 970 Patterson Road in Dayton and Wildwood Pub in Fairfield, are set to take over then, according to employees.

Originally opened in the 1970s under the name Cleopatra’s, Wedig’s — nestled in the corner of the Beaver Valley Shopping Center — has continued to soldier on despite several other businesses leaving or looking to leave the strip mall.

What year is it? Wedig's doesn't appear to have changed much from when it first opened as Cleopatra's in the 70s.

Justin Severt, manager at Patterson Pub, said the new owners were scheduled to meet with Wedig's employees today to discuss their plans for the future of the establishment. Those plans, to be announced at a later time, will include some remodeling and a name change. The new owners are currently hiring bartenders who will be trained at the Patterson Road location while the changes take place.
