Owner Anthony Head had set two early opening dates in June month, but faced delays in the inspection process.
The restaurant is to be located at 3261 W. Siebenthaler Ave. in the Northwest Shopping Plaza.
Head released the restaurant’s menu earlier this week:

It includes waffle fries, sweet potato fries, cake, chips and non-alcoholic beverages in addition to:
🐔 The Chickenhead: boneless chicken breast with pickled onions served on buttered toasted buns.
🐔The Medusa: boneless chicken breast topped with macaroni and cheese, collard greens and pickled onions served on a buttered toasted bun.
🐔The Veganhead: plant based chicken alternative with pickled onions served on a toasted bun.
Sandwiches can be ordered ‘WetWet’ dipped in one of the following: lemon pepper glaze; Cdubb Gold; Gem City Sauce, Thai Garlic Chili Sauce or Mac N Cheese Sauce.

Dayton foodies are going to have to wait a little longer for a well-known Dayton chef’s new restaurant.
Anthony Head says he will have to delay opening The Chicken Spot to fix a problem a county inspector noted with the restaurant's building located at 3261 W. Siebenthaler Ave. in Dayton.
Head had planned to open the business Saturday, July 13, and before that, Saturday, July 6.

The restaurant will specialize in crispy chicken sandwiches, including the Medusa — a chicken sandwich topped with a cavatappi-noodle Mac and Cheese, collard greens cut into ribbons and pickled onions.

The wait is almost over for Dayton’s next big chicken spot.
Local chef Anthony Head announced that his new business The Chicken Spot will celebrate its opening on Saturday, July 13, at 3261 W. Siebenthaler Ave. in Dayton.
A grand opening block party will be scheduled at a later date.
Head said the restaurant employs six and will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday initially.
“Everyone says, ‘we can’t wait until you open.’ We say ‘we can’t wait to feed you,” Head said. “We are super, duper excited.”
The soft open phase will feature pop, homemade cake, the Chicken Head chicken sandwich and the Medusa, a chicken sandwich topped with a cavatappi noodle Mac and Cheese, collard greens cut into ribbons and pickled onions.
More items will be added to the menu at a later time.

A special tasting event will be held for the restaurant’s “Chicken Head fans,” Head said.
Head had intended to open the restaurant Saturday, July 6, but ran into a building inspection delay he said was exacerbated by the Memorial Day tornadoes.

The opening date has been set for a new, locally-owned chicken filet sandwich shop.
The Chicken Spot will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, July 6, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Located at 3261 W. Siebenthaler Ave., it is one of at least three businesses opening soon in the Northwest Shopping Plaza.

Hibbett Sporting Goods plans to open a location in the plaza on June 15, Sam Killian, a real estate manager for the Birmingham, Ala. based company, told this news organization.

A Dayton chef wants to get you hooked on chicken sandwiches dipped in flavorful sauces.
"I want to create a crave-able sandwich," Anthony Head said.
Head and a silent business partner plan to open The Chicken Spot this July at 3261 W. Siebenthaler Ave. in the Northwest Shopping Plaza.

Szechuan Taste vacated the location this week.
“The whole point is to have a nice, crispy chicken sandwich dipped in this sauce,” he said.

The well-known local chef and educator said his carry-out business will specialize in “ChickenHead” chicken sandwiches.
Head said chicken breast will be double breaded, brined in salt and sugar, deep fried in peanut oil and served on a toasted bun. The shop will also sell some sides and Kool-Aid.
“We will grow the menu over time,” he said.

Sandwiches will be available regular or “wet” (dipped once) or “wet wet” (dipped in with additional sauce ladled over) in a list of sauces that includes Head’s lemon pepper glaze and Grippos sauce.

Head said he was inspired to act by the business life of Nipsey Hussle and the late rapper’s recent death.
“This project is all about investing in our community #AllHustleNoLuck,” he told this news organization.
It will follow in the tradition of black-owned restaurants on Dayton’s west side and offer simple, but delicious product, he said.
Specialty sandwiches will include the Medusa, a chicken sandwich topped with a cavatappi noodle Mac and Cheese, collard greens cut into ribbons and pickled onions.
“A true southern sandwich,” he said. “As close to Sunday dinner as possible.”
Sandwiches will range from about $7 to $10.
